While buying a timeshare, you must think it as a recreational lifestyle and not an investment. It is like buying a new vehicle which slowly depreciates after buying. It includes an output of cash when you buy a timeshare unit. You should consider the various other expenses like exchange company subscription fees, maintenance fees, guest fees etc while timesharing. One example is that a price of a timeshare condo is quite high but when you want to resell it, it may not be worth it.

The price of timeshares started with $1500-$2000 over fifty years back. But with passage of time and acceptance, the prices rose to $15000 and then to $40000. So buyers should be careful about it. The main pros are that it is financially attractive. So you can pay only when you use the timeshare condominium for only a few weeks of the year during a vacation. There is also less hassle as you don’t have to take care of the upkeep during the other weeks when you don’t use the condo.

These are some of the advantages and disadvantages involved in timesharing.
